Meet Our Journalism Staff

Presley Fowler

Presley, a seventh grader here at Chisholm Trail, is a creative loud mouth. She may be loud, but in our opinion, that’s what makes her fun to be around. Presley is the type of person to help you out with anything. She also gives really good advice.  In addition, Presley is the kind of person who blurts out whatever is on her mind. In her free time, she can either be found out in the arena covered in dirt, in the saddle, or hanging out with her best friends. Presley is cheer captain for the seventh grade gold squad. She was also on A team for volleyball this year. When Presley gets older, her dream is to finish school, graduate, marry the love of her life, Channing Tatum, and lastly watch her kids grow old. Presley also has dreams of being a sixth grade Language Arts teacher. What pursued Presley to be a teacher was her 6^th grade language arts teacher and journalism teacher, Lori Thompson!

Jasmine Zaldivar

Jasmine Zaldivar is a 7^th grade student here at Chisholm Trail. She is an extremely creative and outgoing girl. Although outgoing, Jasmine would characterize herself as a bit on the quiet side.  Jasmine is the kind of person that can help you out with problems and give you pretty good advice about anything. She also plays basketball for Chisholm Trail and during her “spare time,” she loves watching YouTube vlogs continuously. Jasmine was born in Long Island, New York, and moved to Fort Worth when she was six. When Jasmine grows up, her dream is to become a professional photographer and/or writer.



Lillie McMaster 


Lillie McMaster, an eighth grader here at the Trail, is a grade A procrastinator who loves to watch YouTube in her “spare” time. Her volume button is stuck on loud with no hope of ever being able to turn it down. Lillie’s world revolves around her dog, Sweet Pea, and cat, Dandy. However, Dandy always refuses to snuggle with her, which is the one thing that makes Lillie mad. Otherwise, Lillie’s personality is always chill and happy. She is truly everyone’s friend.  Lillie also has a love for writing and cheerleading and plays the violin in the Chamber Orchestra. When  If Lillie decides to ever grow up, she dreams to be an entrepreneur or YouTuber.



Blake Coleman

Blake is a football player for the 7^th grade B team. He is very quiet until you get to know him. Blake went to a private school for the first six years of his life and is now glad to be in a public school!  Last year, he went from being an only child to having three older step-brothers which was a big change for him.  In the end, he grew to love them, though.   Blake was inspired to be a veterinarian by his oldest step-brother and his two labs that he loves very much!

Abby McCutchan

Abby is a seventh grader at Chisholm Trail Middle School. She is the oldest of three kids in her family, including two brothers, and she also has a dog and a cat. In her free time, Abby loves to play piano, clarinet, run, and write stories. She’s also on the Sigma swim team at Tarrant County College. Although quiet at times here at school, Abby has developed tight knit relationships with her family and friends that mean the world to her. When Abby grows up, she wants to be a children’s author or a travel writer. 


Jazmin Manovapillai

Jazmin is a seventh grade student at Chisholm Trail middle school. She lives with her mom, dad, sister, brother, and dog, Fluffy. Some might call Jazmin quiet, but her true personality shines through when with her friends. During her free time, you can find Jazmin playing on her phone, reading dystopian future books, or playing with her dog. When she grows up, she wants to be a pharmacist or a dentist. 



Colton Staley

Colton is a funny and outgoing person. He has three siblings that he gladly annoys every single day, and they happily return they favor.  In his spare time, you can find Colton excessively cracking lame jokes, you know, the kind that only he laughs at.  His life revolves around football and food. When Colton grows up, which like with most boys will be when he’s about 30 years old, he wants to be a marine biologist.

Emma Newbaker

Emma is the middle child of three children.  She's the kind of person who wakes up annoyed with the world but when she gets to school, she can't stop smiling.  Emma is a ball of energy. She loves to dance and has been doing so since she was two. Emma is a cheerleader and on the 7th grade basketball team.  Her ultimate dream is to become a professional dancer, but in reality, Emma will probably end up doing something with film and photography. 

Leila Redman

Leila Redman is a 7th grade student that attends Chisholm Trail Middle School.  She likes to hang out with her friends and family after school and loves to drink Mocha Frappuccinos from Starbucks.  Although Leila can be shy, she's been known to come out her shell and stand up for her friends when people aren't being nice to them. She loves animals and has been affectionately referred to as the crazy cat person.   Leila loves babies and thinks they are the second cutest thing in the world, only to be trumped by her love of cats.  Whenever Leila grows up, she wants to be a sonographer.
